Safe Landing in Miami offers compassionate and experienced treatment programs for teenagers. Our personalized approach to addiction recovery includes a range of comprehensive medical and mental health programs - including residential inpatient treatment options and intensive outpatient programs (IOP).
Addiction impacts teens differently than it does adults. Teens often abuse drugs and alcohol as a means of coping with physical and emotional trauma, social and family issues, and unaddressed mental health problems. Left without the proper tools or outlet for these feelings, teens may develop addictions and other destructive behaviors, which interfere with their ability to function properly at school, work, or in the home. Teen substance abuse is not a problem that should be ignored, as illicit subsances become a barrier that hinders their mental, emotional. and physical growth and development into adulthood.
At Safe Landing, we work diligently to correct negative self-image, build confidence and self-esteem, and provide a safe place for addressing other underlying causes of addiction. Through individual, group, and family counseling, we focus on personal accountability, mindfulness, and developing positive means of processing stress and emotional challenges. Following a comprehensive behavioral health assessment upon admission, our behavioral health specialists curate an individualized treatment program designed for optimal effectiveness. Parent(s) or legal guardian(s) are kept informed and involved at each level of care, helping to heal and promote support as a family unit.
Safe Landing also facilitates opportunities for bonding and teamwork among our clients. We break through the isolation of addiction to promote healing together and unity with a focus on effective communication skills. We delve into interpersonal relationships, setting and respecting personal boundaries, and conflict resolution. Gender and age specific group therapy sessions at Safe Landing also provide a judgement-free space for self-expression and support.
Above all, our team is dedicated to changing lives of our youth and helping them move forward in realizing their full potential. Our earnest belief that your teen's past does not have to dictate their future is the driving force in everything we do.

Education is important. That’s why Safe Landing provides treatment options that take school into consideration. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is flexible to allow children and teens to remain in school while still receiving the care they need to overcome addiction. Schedules for IOP are 3-5 days for 2-3 hours per day with a strong emphasis on parental involvement every step of the way. This course is ideal for balancing life responsibilities and recovery for teens.
In the case of adolescents who require more structure and care, we offer an intensive partial hospitalization program (PHP)- 5 days a week for 5 hours a day. Here the focus is on blending treatment and education into one through virtual schooling, in-class instruction for core subjects, GED, SAT, ACT, and college prep, and career coaching. The Safe Landing summer rehab program is also a great alternative which allows teens to focus on the recovery process completely during the summer vacation months between school years. Your teen can overcome substance abuse while stillworking toward graduation and their future!
Our educational programs also include courses on health, medication management, and substance abuse to ensure long-term sobriety. We strive to promote well-rounded growth and character building through life skills training, teaching real tools that are applicable to life.

For teens living with substance abuse disorders, drugs and alcohol abuse often begins as a means of fitting in, coping with stress and emotional challenges, or self-medicating undiagnosed mental health disorders. External influences such as friends and peers, stress at home or school, and other troubles can be contributing factors to active addiction, creating a dangerous cycle that can have lasting detrimental effects in your teen’s life. Understanding your teen’s personal struggles and needs will help you determine how to help them reclaim control of their lives and better their future.
Teen residential inpatient treatment helps to eliminate external influences and distractions which can interfere with the recovery process. Client-centered care in a private, fully enclosed facility allows for greater focus on the mental and emotional process of addiction recovery. With evidence-based methods of care including behavioral therapy techniques, mindfulness training, and other life affirming lessons, teen inpatient treatment is designed to create a solid foundation for long-term success in sobriety.
Safe Landing residential inpatient treatment is structured for optimal effectiveness for each client. This approach provides a perfect balance between group and individualized care methods, specifically chosen with your teen’s success in mind. Alternatives such as non-verbal expressive arts therapies, pet therapy with our trained therapy dog, EMDR, and other holistic options are also used as a means of reaching those who may not benefit as much from traditional talk therapy.
Because addiction recovery is a total life transformation process, Safe Landing’s teen residential inpatient treatment program also focuses on education and life management skills. During their time with us, your teen will receive on-site instruction in the core subjects, virtual schooling, and assistance with GED, SAT, or ACT prep to keep them on track for graduation and beyond. Clients are able to make up credits or even get ahead of their coursework with the assistance of experienced instructors and support staff. Beyond the classroom, our life skills training courses focus on instilling the importance of self-sustainability. This includes:
