Generally, the qualifying criteria for the insurances include (one or more) of the following:

• Failure to respond to pharmacologic antidepressant treatments
• Failure to respond to additional augmentation strategies, and
• Failure to respond to some from of psychotherapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy.

TMS treatment for depression Many people have treatment resistant depression, where antidepressants have helped little if at all. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is an excellent alternative.
