Burt Reynolds Enters Drug Rehab for Prescription Pill Addiction
Burt Reynolds has entered a West Palm Beach drug rehab to deal with an addiction to the prescription narcotics that he began taking after a recent back surgery.
The 73 year old star of films like Smokey and the Bandit and Deliverance and an Oscar Award nominee and Golden Globe Award winner for his role in the 1997 hit, Boogie Nights, Reynolds said that his life had become a “prison of pills” and that he needed professional help to “regain control of his life.”
Reynolds’ manager, Erik Kritzer, released a statement saying, "Mr. Reynolds hopes his story will help others in a similar situation. He hopes they will not try to solve the problem by themselves, but realize that sometimes it is too tough to do on their own and they should seek help, as he did.”
